Telangana temple festival to be held today. On the occasion of Independence Day, Telangana Temple Festival (Gudi Sambaralu) will be inaugurated by Telangana Heritage Trust aiming to bring soulful and spiritual art forms to the people in Hyderabad on Saturday.

In this festival, a curtain raiser event theme ‘Sacred Waters’ will be performed by Actress Rukmini Vijayakumar, Bharathanatyam exponent. She admired Hyderabad as city of colours with vibrant festivals, theatres and dance performances and said that “I am excited and looking forward to perform Raadha Kalpa,” she said.
The Founding Member of THT, Dr Srinagi B Rao, who initiated the festival idea, said that the idea of bringing the festival to the art loving city of Hyderabad was inspired from similar festival in Banglore. The Founding Member of THT, Shashikala S Reddy, said the Trust was intended to patronise traditional art forms, provide a platform for talented artistes.
The TRS MP, Kalvakuntla Kavitha is the guest of honour and the Board Members Rameshwar Rao (My Home), B V R Mohan Reddy (Infotech), Shilpa Reddy, Mahesh Reddy, IAS Jayesh Ranjan and Rajashree Vikram will attend the festival.
