Hyderabad: Telangana State Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Monday inaugurated the INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research), district-level science exhibition – 2015, at the Progress High School at Chandu Lal Baradarari in Bhadurpura here.


Nearly 700 children of 6th to 10th class from 350 schools, both government and private, from six zones of Bhadurpura, Bandalaguda, Chairminar, Golkonda and Khairthabad participated and displayed their innovative science projects. The exhibition will continue for three days.


A jury under the chairmanship of Acharyya B N Reddy, Member of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, along with 28 members comprising of Professors and Assistant Professors from distinguished institutions, will select the winners. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister stressed the need to promote scientific temper among youth, so as to create a pool of scientists which was the dream of late A P J Abdul Kalam.


He said the Telangana State government was committed promote literacy. The government was giving special emphasis on promoting literacy among people belonging to minority community. He went around and interacted with children. MLC K Janardhan Reddy, Hyderabad DEO M Somi Reddy, District Science Officer G Prabhakar, Progressive Group of Institution Chairman Mirza Mohamad Ali Baig and other officials from Education Department took part.
