Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao Sunday assured to give more priority to backward Palamur district for completing the projects on time. The Minister declared that road from Jadcherla in Mahabubnagar district connecting Devarakonda in Nalgonda district will be made into a national road. Efforts are being made for this project, he said.

Participating in developmental works worth Rs 1 crore at Shadnagar near Hyderabad along with Planning Commission deputy chief Niranjan Reddy, MLA Anjaiah and others, the Minister stated that they are committed to develop the district by spending huge amounts. The Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is taking extra care on the district which will see a sea change in the days to come, he maintained.

He criticised the Telangana Congress Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy for collapse of housing sector in the state during his stint as Housing Minister in Congress government. The previous government failed miserably to construct houses for poor and looted funds running into crores of rupees, he alleged.

Though the Congress did not develop the State, Uttam and others are coming in the way of development, he charged. He asked the Congress chief in Telangana to refrain from making baseless allegations and instead give suggestions for speedy growth and progress of the new state.
