Hyderabad: The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi on Wednesday confirmed that immersion of Ganesh Idols during the mass immersion on September 27 would take place in Vinayak Sagar in Tank Bund in Hyderabad.

Speaking to the media, the BGUS general secretary Dr Bhagvanth Rao said that there are no amendments to the routine procedure of immersion of Ganesh idols during the last day of Vinayaka Chaturthi festival. He stated that the mass immersion would take place in Tank Bund only.

He requested the government officials to not confuse the public as they earlier said that immersion of idols from 2015 would take place near Indira Park. Bhagvanth Rao said that a meeting would be organised by the BHUS on September 13, which would be attended by the eminent religious heads across the country and also political leaders.

“A Hindu Chaitanya Sabha will be organised at NTR grounds near Indira Park in lower Tank Bund which would be attended by Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath, Sadhvi Hemlata Sastry, Chinna Jeeyar and other political leaders of various states,” Bhagvanth Rao said. He accused the police for harassing the Ganesh Pandal organisers in the issues related to granting permission for installing idols in the colonies.
