He was addressing the ex-servicemen who met him at camp office in Begumpet here on Thursday. In response to a memorandum submitted by ex-servicemen regarding their pending demands, KCR assured them of fulfilling all of their demands.
He agreed to hike honorary gratuity given to soldiers of Second World War from existing Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000. He declared that Telangana State government would honour soldiers who excelled in their duties during the Formation Day fete every year.
Further, Rao stated that funds would be allocated for the welfare of ex-servicemen in every year’s budget. Also, ex-servicemen, who were facing financial woes, would be accommodated in two-bedroom housing scheme.
He told them to constitute a six-member panel which would act as a bridge between ex-servicemen and government. The committee would help to bring issues concerning the retired soldiers to government’s notice and ensure that they would be solved, he added.
