Rogue car masquerades as CM’s convoy vehicle
The Telangana police are on a high alert following the sighting of a car bearing the registration number same as that of a vehicle in the convoy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The registration number of the Chief Minister’s convoy vehicle, Toyota Fortuner SUV bearing the registration number ‘TS 09 K 6666’, is being used by an unidentified owner of this Polo car.
Police on the look out for Polo car
Hyderabad: The Telangana police are on a high alert following the sighting of a car bearing the registration number same as that of a vehicle in the convoy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The registration number of the Chief Minister’s convoy vehicle, Toyota Fortuner SUV bearing the registration number ‘TS 09 K 6666’, is being used by an unidentified owner of this Polo car.
What shocked the city cops is that a Volkswagen-made Polo bearing the same registration of the Chief Minister’s convoy car has been seen going round the city. The car came to the attention of the police on July 24 when the police found it parked in a “no-parking zone” at Bharath Nagar under the limits of Balanagar Traffic Police Station limits.
The police had even generated an e-challan against the owner of the car but it could not be served on the erring motorist as the owner’s name is missing (null). The Hans India has in its possession the photograph of the rogue car. The Regional Transport Authority in Hyderabad could not give details on the car bearing the same registration number.
The photograph proof of the violating car has been confirmed by Intelligence officials that it has the same registration number of the CM’s convoy vehicle. A senior police officer of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate said, “We have to verify whether the RTA has given the same registration number by mistake or the user is using the number clandestinely.”
