Police order against religious meet at NTR Stadium upheld

Justice AV Seshasai of the High Court at Hyderabad refused to interfere with the action of the police in refusing permission for the religious meet at the NTR stadium in the city which is scheduled to have Jeeyar Swami, the Gorakhpur MP Swami Adityananada , Poojyasri Hemalatha Sastri among others.

The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee filed the writ petition questioning the order made on September 9 refusing police permission for the meeting scheduled for September 13. The police cited an earlier verdict of a division bench of the court on permitting use of the stadium.

The judge made clear that the petitioner should make a fresh application with an alternative venue and the police authorities will consider the same.
