Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao spent a busy day interacting with who’s who of Chinese business industry besides going on an exposure visit to Hitech Industrial Park during his stay in Shenzhen city on Monday. In the evening he left for Hong Kong, the last-leg of his ten-day China tour.
Rao, who met representatives of several business organisations and forums ever since he reached China a week ago, had the opportunity of exchanging views on international trade with the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), a trade body of the Chinese government founded in 1952.
The Chief Minister briefed them about the new industrial policy of his government and plenty of opportunities to invest in the State. The CCPIT develops business cooperation and exchanges with foreign countries. It produces economic data, and is involved with diplomacy and with trade arbitration issues.
Later, the CM-led delegation undertook a visit of Shenzhen Hitech Industrial Park (SHIP) where he first inspected ZTE Corporation (Mobile Device Future Concepts) which is a prominent electronic hardware manufacturing company. ZTE Corporation is a Chinese multinational telecommunications equipment and systems company headquartered in Shenzhen.
It is ranked among top five largest smart phone manufacturers in the home market and among the top ten worldwide. The Chief Minister and representatives of ZTE had discussions on the possibility of establishing similar units in Telangana. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister had a lot of appreciation for SHIP founded in September 1996 and has been listed among China's five state-level high-tech parks.
SHIP covers a total area of 11.5 square kilometers in Nanshan District. Chinese authorities concerned briefed the delegation that the park had attracted many world-renowned companies including IBM, Philips, Compaq, Olympus, Epson, Lucent, Harris and Thomson, as well as leading domestic players including Huawei, ZTE, Lenovo, TCL and Skyworth etc.
Chandrashekar Rao and members of the delegation, while going round the park, spoke to senior officials of various enterprises located in the park and enquired about their functioning. After winding up Shenzhen visit, the CM-led delegation left for Hong Kong where they are scheduled to have industry interactions besides visiting couple of places of interest.
