Hyderabad: Telangana TDP on Monday demanded that Telangana Jagruthi President K Kavitha quit Lok Sabha owning moral responsibility for the spate of farmer suicides in the State.
Addressing the press here, party Telangana unit Women wing President B Shobharani ridiculed the suggestion made by Kavitha that children of bereaved families of the farmers be adopted.
She questioned Kavitha for not inviting opposition parties to the round table on farmers suicides conducted by her organisation on Sunday in the city. The KCR government’s indifferent attitude towards the farmers forced the farming community to take the extreme step.
Stating that the party would organise a dharna and submit a memorandum to the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on farmers suicide on September 16 in the city, the T TDP leader said also demanded that KCR tender an apology to the farmers for failing to come to the rescue of farmers and thus ensuring that the farmers did not commit suicide.
