Cong to launch stir for 12 pc quota to Muslims. Congress MLC Farooq Hussain on Tuesday said the Congress party would launch a movement to press for 12 per cent quota for Muslims in jobs and education as was promised by the TRS in its election manifesto.
Hyderabad: Congress MLC Farooq Hussain on Tuesday said the Congress party would launch a movement to press for 12 per cent quota for Muslims in jobs and education as was promised by the TRS in its election manifesto.
Speaking to media persons on Assembly premises, Farooq Hussain said the Sudhir Committee constituted by the State government was eyewash as its recommendations had no legal sanctity.
The Congress leaders would submit representations to Collectors, MROs and RDOs demanding reservations for Muslims. He said all MPs and legislators of Congress party would actively participate in the movement.
Farooq Hussain also said that the Congress Legislature Party, which met here on Tuesday, passed a resolution to express condolences over death of Haj pilgrims. He said the State government should provide assistance to the families of those killed in that tragedy.
