Hyderabad: Congress Deputy Floor Leader in Assembly T Jeevan Reddy on Wednesday demanded judicial probe by a sitting judge into the encounter in which two alleged Maoists, including a woman, were gunned down in Warangal district on Tuesday. He described the encounter as “fake.”

He blamed the government for making no effort to ensure that the youth were not attracted towards Maoist ideology.Speaking to media persons on Assembly premises, he recalled the promise made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that there would be no fake encounters after he came to power. But, the government under the leadership of KCR, had been killing the youth for opposing his government.

“Are the encounters only way to crush dissent,” he asked. Jeevan Reddy described the Chief Minister’s China visit as nothing but a “pleasure trip.” He questioned as to why KCR failed to provide relief to the distressed farmers who continue to commit suicide, while spending crores of rupees on unproductive visit abroad.
