Karimnagar: Usually, leaders of opposition parties would raise the protocol issue. But as against the routine practice, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MP from Peddapalli, Balka Suman expressed deep concern over not being invited to official programmes.

The MP opined that he might have not been invited because he does not have a tail behind his name like Sharma, Reddy and Rao.

Suman threatened that all the district officials have to beeline before the Parliament if he passes a privilege motion in the house.

Stating that he has been observing the officials’ attitude during the last 15 months, he informed that he would not hesitate to move motion in the house if the officials failed to mend their ways and send invitations to him hereafter.

Suman made this comments while participating in the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting, held under the chair of Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar at the Collectorate conference hall on Friday.

He attended DVMC meeting at 2 pm though the meeting was started in the morning. Due to lack of information, he failed to come to the meeting within the time, he said.Being an elected representative of the ruling party, Suman expressed regrets to make such kind of comments.

His name also being mentioned at tenth or eleventh place on plaques of various developmental works, he informed.“Four assembly constituencies from Karimnagar district falls in his Peddapalli parliament segment. I have no objection if the district administration wants to organise a separate meeting at Peddapalli,” he said.

The MP told the Collector, Neetu Kumari Prasad, that not only Karimnagar MP, she should also invite him. “I actually decided to boycott the meeting but changed my opinion after seeing Finance Minister Eatala Rajender and Vinod Kumar”, he informed.

Speaking on the MP’s comments, Rajender asked the Collector to talk to the officials and take measures not to repeat the mistake in future.

Instead of GOs and Acts, it was better practice to follow the ground eality. Officials should consult the Minister if there are works worth above Rs 10 lakh, he opined. Chairman of the meeting, Vinod said that the officials should invite three MPs - Suman, K Kavitha (Nizamabad) and himself.
