As many as 13 cases of farmers’ suicides were reported across five districts of Telangana in the last 24 hours. Four of the suicides were reported from Warangal district, while the other suicides came to light in several places from across the state.

Bogged down by debt and despair, a 50-year-old farmer died of cardiac arrest in Muripirala village in Warangal district. Yaakayya's crop was destroyed completely in the recent rains.
A farmer from Gavicherla village of Sangem mandal, consumed pesticides after his crop was damaged by the heavy rains and died on the spot.
Recently, the Government hiked the ex gratia from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh.
