Recently, the DCA directed hundreds of shops to shut down on charges of selling drugs without prescription.

And the DCA has been issuing showcase notices to the shops for the same violation. The bandh call has been given by the Telangana Chemists and Druggists Association.
The DCA is all set to call for a meeting to ask them to withdraw the strike.
