Hyderabad: TRS leaders Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and B Venkateshwarlu Friday lashed out at Opposition parties for indulging in dirty politics on farmer suicides’ issue. Speaking to reporters here, they flayed the Congress and Telugu Desam for crying foul on the suicides, farmers’ issues, irrigation projects and welfare programmes, for political mileage.

Admitting that the farmers are resorting to suicides, they said that the TRS Government will resolve their issues. They urged the farmers to avoid getting fed up with the issues and instead remain brave. They claimed that only Telangana government is implementing the recommendations of Swaminathan Committee for farmers in the country. They alleged that the previous governments adopted false policies adding to the woes of the farmers.

Neither the Congress nor the Telugu Desam governments addressed the problems and completed irrigation projects in Telangana region, they alleged. This resulted compounded the woes of the farmers who are resorting to end their lives, the TRS leaders stated. ‘Our government is kind enough to hike ex-gratia for the farmers’ to waive off their debts and provide timely succour.

The government also supplied seeds, fertilisers and power on time besides releasing funds for providing them remunerative prices to their produce. The TRS government is implementing many welfare schemes, and Mission Kakatiya is giving better results with lakes and ponds getting adequate waters. The Chief Minister gave priority to the SCs, STs and BCs to fill up posts in market panels, they added.
