The Telangana State government is in the final stages of formulating its irrigation policy. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao held a review meeting in this regard with Minister T Harish Rao and senior officials of the department on Sunday.

Hyderabad: The Telangana State government is in the final stages of formulating its irrigation policy.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao held a review meeting in this regard with Minister T Harish Rao and senior officials of the department on Sunday.

Rao directed officials to submit irrigation requirements of each districts, proposals to build check dams, etc.

He enquired about progress of rehabilitation of project oustees in different districts and compensation formalities.

Rao also discussed impact of Mission Kakatiya in the rural areas of the state.

It may be mentioned here that Telangana State government decided to introduce the new irrigation policy in the ongoing monsoon session of State Assembly.

Against this backdrop, Rao is holding marathon meetings with senior officials of the Irrigation Department for the last two days.

According to sources, a final meeting will be held in the next two days in which a power point presentation would be made about the irrigation policy. Any changes, if necessary, to be made would be decided in that meeting.
