Hyderabad: Not withstanding denial of permission by the police to organise Chalo Assembly, the Telangana Democratic Forum has decided to go ahead with its plan on Wednesday.

The Hyderabad City Police denied permission to take out “Chalo Assembly” rally from Sundaraiah Park to the State Assembly.

The permission for the rally was rejected on the grounds that anti-social elements may infiltrate into procession, leading to violence.

Moreover, procession to the Assembly cannot be permitted as the House was in session. TheTDF gave a call for Chalo Assembly to protest against the encounter in which two Maoists, Shruti and Vidyasagar Reddy, were killed.

Central Zone DCP V B Kamalasan Reddy on Tuesday said that they had learnt that the “Telangana Democratic Forum” was formed at the instance of CPI (Maoist) and the programme was in support to further the cause and the ideology. “It is reliably learnt that “Chalo Assembly” call was given at the instance of CPI (Maoist) Party to support its cause and as such it cadres, supporters, sympathisers and activists of all mass organisations of the CPI (Maoist) Party from all the affected areas of Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and

Andhra-Orissa Border are likely to reach Hyderabad in large numbers and these extremist elements are likely to indulge in large-scale violence and disturb public peace and tranquillity,” the DCP said. The TDP, however, denied the charge made by the police and the organisation was freed from banned elements.
