Taking govt services to doorsteps of ruralites: KTR

Karimnagar: Panchayatraj and Information Technology Minister, K Taraka Rama Rao opined that the ‘Village Independence’ concept of Mahatma Gandhi would be possible only when the services of the governments reached doorsteps of the rural people.

KTR inaugurated Village Comprehensive Service Centre (VCSC) in Chinnabonala village of Sircilla mandal on Friday. Speaking on the occasion,

out of 8,770 villages in the State, VCSCs were started in 104 villages across the State in the first phase and remaining villages would get centres in the phased manner.

With a view to take government’s services to the doorsteps of rural people and make them to utilise services easily, the government has decided to set up VCSC centres in the rural areas, he said.

Besides 321 services being provided through Mee Seva centres, birth, death, caste and six other revenue services would be provided in VCSC centres and remaining services would also be introduced in a phased manner, Minister informed and said people could get certificates in the village itself without making rounds to Mee Seva and Tahsildhar offices.

There was a possibility to increase transparency and put an end to corruption with the utilisation of technology, he opined and wanted to transform the State as an ideal one in the country by successfully setting up VCSCs in all villages.

Emphasising the need to turn Karimnagar as open defection-free district, the Minister said Sircilla constituency has became ideal segment in the State by constructing cent percent individual toilets.

KTR asked the officials and public representatives to motivate people to construct toilets and make them use.
