Out goes Lepakshi, in comes Golconda

Hyderabad: The retail outlets of Telangana State Handicrafts Development will henceforth be called as Golconda Emporiums.

Earlier to the division of Handicrafts Department between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states, they were known as Lepakshi Emporiums.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday approved recommendation of a select committee constituted for this purpose. Handicrafts Department received several names like Kohinoor, Kakatiya, etc.

Entries were invited asking public to send entries that reflected culture and traditions of Telangana.
