Hyderabad: Cyber fraudsters reportedly siphoned off about Rs 1.5 lakh from the salary accounts of the Telangana Road Transport employees working at Jeedimetla depot and a senior bank employee working in the city. The victims filed a complaint with Cyber Crime police of Hyderabad and Cyberabad on Monday.

Two bus drivers and two conductors stated that they received a call from an unknown person on Saturday who claimed to be an employee of a bank. The accused asking the details of ATM cards, CVV number, ATM Pin and One Time Password on the pretext of verification. Convinced by the caller, the RTC employees offered details of their bank accounts. By Sunday, the employees received messages on their mobile numbers that a certain amount was withdrawn from their accounts.

In another incident, a bank employee, aged about 55, approached the Cyber Crime police on Monday to complain about the theft of Rs 10,000 from his account. In his complaint, he stated that an unknown person called him seeking the details of his bank account number as the bank in which the victim was working was collecting data of the employees.
