Hyderabad: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) regional executive director (south) R Venteswaran said that the ministry of coal has allocated Mandakani coal mine for 4000 MW for Telangana Super Thermal Power Project (TSTPP), Ramagundam in Karimnagar Speaking at NTPC’s 40th raising day celebrations here, Venkateswaran said, “NTPC is expecting Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) clearance by the end of November.

This would pave the way for investment approval, followed by main plant equipment contract and commencement of works.”

Stating that the Corporation is also implementing the first tranche of 250 MW as a part of 1000 MW solar power projects in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh, Venkateswaran said that NTPC-Ramagundam unit -7 with 500 MW installed capacity has set a national record of continuous run of 449 days since August 18 last year.

The official said the gathering that 2,000 MW Simhadri plant situated near Visakhapatnam bagged first position amongst all NTPC coal stations in various performance parameters such as auxiliary power consumption and availability.

He said the NTPC has emerged as the largest power producer in India in terms of both installed capacity and generation, with aggregate installed capacity of 45,548 MW including 39352 MW through directly owned units and 6,196 MW through subsidiaries and joint ventures.
