Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP B Vinod Kumar accused the Opposition parties of being jealous over the welfare programmes taken up by the TRS government. He also accused the Opposition leaders of not being able to digest the development of the State, and making derogatory comments on suicides of the farmers.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Vinod Kumar said farmers’ suicides were more in the neighbouring Karnataka and Maharashtra States compared to the Telangana State. The TRS government had promised to waive the entire crop loan and would do it very soon, Vinod Kumar said, adding that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would take a final call on the crop loan waiver.

“In just 16 months in office, the TRS government introduced many welfare schemes and developmental programmes. The Congress leaders, who faulted statehood movement, are now getting jealous over the welfare schemes,” he said.

The people are expressing anguish and displeasure at the Congress leaders, he charged. The TRS government was committed for welfare of the poor and deprived classes and development of the State, he said.
