AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been accused to causing hindrances in the construction of irrigation projects in the state by the Telangana Government. Irrigation Minister Harish Rao said that especially the Kalwakurthy lift irrigation scheme which will provide assistance to Mahbubnagar district has been facing trouble with the AP government lodging a complaint against it.

Harish Rao said that a complaint was lodged with the Krishna Board on November 7 even though the project was cleared in the undivided state. He said that Chandrababu claims that the Telugus in both the states are like his two eyes but he is a honey-smeared sword in reality.

Stating that Chandrababu would earn the wrath of the people if he stalls the irrigation projects in the state, Mr Rao said that the Kalwakurthy project is to provide irrigation to 3.65 lakh acres. Adding further he said that the irrigation project would check migration, help drought-prone Mahbubnagar and utilized for drinking purposes.

Mr Rao revealed that the TS govt is trying to complete projects taken up by the the TD and the Congress governments while utilizing only the share of its 501 TMC of surplus waters.
