Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has achieved a new record in coal production and supplies this year. The company produced 375 lakh tonnes of coal against the target 346 lakh tonnes by registering 108 per cent achievement in the last eight months.

SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar said that the company also supplied 381 lakh tonnes coal in the last eight months. Of this, 216 lakh tonnes of coal was supplied as per Fuel Supply Agreements (FSAs) against a target of 181 lakh tonnes with 120 per cent achievement.

The company removed 195 million cubic meters overburden up to November which is 20 per cent higher than same period last year. The official also explained the SCCL registered new record in November by producing 52.77 lakh tonnes against the target of 48.39 lakh tonnes.

Last November, the company produced 45.67 lakh tonnes. The company supplied 50 lakh tonnes through 950 rakes during the month with 17 per cent growth over last year same period and it is a historical record in coal supplies. Last year November company supplied 44 lakh tones coal through 696 rakes.
