TDP leader seeks district status for Yadadri

Narsimulu, who came in a rally from Vaikuntha Dwaram to MRO office, offered tributes to the Martyrs’ Memorial.

Yadagirigutta: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) senior leader from Telangana, Motkupalli Narsimhulu, on Tuesday sat on a daylong hunger strike at Yadagirigutta, demanding that the State government make it a district. Narsimulu, who came in a rally from Vaikuntha Dwaram to MRO office, offered tributes to the Martyrs’ Memorial.

Narsimuhulu who hails from Nalgonda district where the temple is located, came to the hillock and sat on a daylong hunger strike. Speaking on the occasion, the TDP leader demanded that the State government make Yadagirigutta a district for the speedy growth and welfare of the people in the region.

It may be noted that the Telangana government is planning to develop and transform Yadadri on the lines of Tirupati in Chittoor district. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has taken up development of the shrine by spending a whopping Rs 100 crore. Chandrashekar Rao also rechristened the temple as Yadadri and provided better road connectivity and other facilities to the temple town.
