EC issues MLC poll notification
The Election Commission has released notification for election to the 12 vacant seats in the Telangana Legislative Council under the local bodies’ quota. The polls would be held on December 27, whereas counting is scheduled for December 30. The last date for filing of nominations was fixed as December 9. Candidates could withdraw their nominations before December 12.

According to a press release issued by the Election Commission here on Wednesday, the term of office of nine members of the Telangana Legislative Council elected by members of the local authorities’ constituencies expired in May 2015, while three constituencies have been newly created.
Elections will be held to fill the vacant posts of local authorities constituencies- two each in Karimnagar, Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar districts, whereas one each in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak, Nalgonda, Warangal and Khammam districts.
