Notification for VC posts today
State-run Universities which have been headless over a year may get one each in a month. The Telangana government will issue a notification inviting applications for the post of vice-chancellors in the varsities on Thursday. The notification would be issued by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and would be printed in Friday’s edition of newspapers.

With separate notifications, the government wants to fill up vacant VC posts in nine universities that include Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Palamuru University, Telugu University, Dr BR Ambedkar Open University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad, Satavahana University, Mahatma Gandhi University and Telangana University.
However, notification for the post of VC of Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University would be issued later as the issue in pending before the High Court. The candidates would be given two weekdays to send their applications to the search committee for scrutiny. The government intends to complete the process of scrutiny by December 20 and wants to appoint VCs by December last week or January first week.
