Karimnagar: In the wake of anti-corruption week being observed by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) from Thursday, the victims of ASI Mohan Reddy launched relay hunger strike in front of the District Collectorate, demanding the State government transferring the case to CBI and do justice to them.

Led by Mohan Reddy’s Victims Association, the victims launched the hunger strike. Lok Satta Udyama Samstha and Telangana Praja Front extended their support to them.

The victims said that they have launched the week-long strike to send the message that the police officials, whose responsibility was to provide all kind of security to the public, had duped them.

They submitted a memorandum to Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad and Superintendent of Police D Joel Davis at a venue, where the duo were participating in the inaugural function of Anti-Corruption week.

Extending his organisation’s support to the victims, Lok Satta leader N Srinivas said that there were doubts among the victims that the CID, which is investigating the ASI’s case, is not probing the case in the right direction.

Moreover, the CID failed to drag the names of senior police officials who invested money in illegal finance and backed Mohan Reddy to run the money lending business.

Victims Association president Musuku Mahender Reddy informed that they came to know that some of the influential people in the State government have involved in the case and are trying to weaken it.

In this situation, the victims could not get justice if the CID continues its probe, he opined and threatened to continue their agitation till the case was transferred to CBI.
