TRS MP Jitender ReddyNew Delhi: TRS MP Jitender Reddy on Thursday lashed out at the Centre for neglecting the Telangana issues and for delaying the release of funds for various welfare programmes.

Addressing the media along with the members of the high-level TRS delegation, consisting deputy CMs K Srihari and Mahmood Ali and State Ministers, he said State government was not seeking assistance out of turn or as a favour. The Centre should implement all its promises as stated in the AP Reorganisation Act in true federal spirit.

If the Centre expected the TRS leadership to bend and crawl before it, it was wrong, he said. The TRS had fought for separate Statehood for many long years and justifiably so and secured the same. It had fought injustice meted out to the people of Telangana for long and was on the path of creating a prosperous Telangana now.

The government was not seeking anything other than what was due to it and was not even comparing itself with the AP government. Refuting the contention of a section of the bureaucracy here that the Telangana government or its ruling party's leadership was not putting in right and sufficient efforts to secure funds, he said the State government

had been writing to the Centre on all pending matters regularly. CM K Chandrashekar Rao and Ministers had been meeting the Union Ministers as and when needed and hence, there was no substance to the claim that there was any lacunae in their efforts.
