Naxalite couple surrenders at Yellandu

A couple belonging to CPI (ML-New Democracy), who used to actively participate in the activities of the underground Chandranna group surrendered before Yellandu DSP Veereshwar Rao at Yellandu mandal in the district on Friday.
Khammam: A couple belonging to CPI (ML-New Democracy), who used to actively participate in the activities of the underground Chandranna group surrendered before Yellandu DSP Veereshwar Rao at Yellandu mandal in the district on Friday.The couple - Gare Ravi alias Ganesh (25) and his wife Rajeshwari alias Nirmala (23), who hails from Pagideru village in Manuguru mandal - had earlier worked in the underground cadre for over 20 months. The duo worked with Sudhakar Dalam in the Yellandu area. According to reports, the couple was disillusioned with their party and wanted to join the social mainstream.
The couple also expressed the hope that they would be provided with the benefits offered to the surrendered Maoists. Rajeshwari did a course in nursing before she joined the banned outfit.
