Hyderabad: Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav criticised the Opposition parties for coming in the way of development of the State. Speaking to media at the Secretariat on Friday, Talasani accused the Opposition parties of indulging in cheap politics for political mileage.

"The Opposition parties are afraid of losing ground in future as many welfare schemes launched by the TRS government were yielding fruitful results. He also alleged that the Opposition parties were creating hurdles in the way of State’s development.

Much to the delight of all sections, the TRS government carefully took all steps to ensure that 24-hour power was supplied to industries, domestic and other users, he said. “Indeed, nobody expected that the power crisis will be resolved,” he said, adding that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao put in relentless efforts for the purpose.

He also said the State government would organise Christmas as a State festival and give alms to the poor people as it was done during Ramzan festival for Muslims and Bonalu and Bathukamma festivals earlier. “The dreams of poor are going to be a reality soon as the KCR government is providing them the permanent shelter," he said.

Yadav said the government was offering Rs 1 kg rice at six kg per head, besides supplying the same to the welfare hostels. KCR was making persistent efforts like Bhageeratha for water resources for drinking and irrigation needs. Despite all the schemes, the Opposition was making a hue and cry for mileage, he charged.
