Khammam: The Congress, the TDP, the YSR Congress and the Left parties are gearing up for the MLC elections to defeat the ruling TRS party and to give a major blow to the Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao in the district.

The CPM and CPI parties have already announced the name of the senior CPI leader, Puvvada Nageshwar Rao, as their combined candidate for the MLC elections seeking the support of the CPI-ML (ND) party.

With the massive win in the Warangal by-election, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti Party is gearing up to win the MLC seat in the Khammam district.

Meanwhile, the R&B Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao is taking the MLC elections as a big challenge and declared openly to the party members that those people’s representatives who join the party in large numbers would be suitably rewarded with nominated posts.
The TDP and Congress parties are still in a dilemma whether to contest or support any strong candidate to give a major shock to the ruling TRS party.

The political scenario of the Khammam district is different when compared to all other districts in the State. The TRS party did not have a notable victory till now in the district. Many leaders of the party seen in TRS today were once members of other political parties.

There are no leaders who won contesting on the TRS symbol in the district. All the leaders who are seen in the TRS party now are those who went along with Tummala Nageshwar Rao when he joined in the TRS party and some of them joined the party later.

The TRS party is in search of a suitable candidate to contest in the MLC elections. Former MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, the District President SK Baig, RJC Krishna are aspiring for the TRS ticket along with the former MLA’s Yusuf Sultan and Kondabala Koteshwar Rao. Earlier it was heard that the head of the Hetero Drugs, Bandi Pardhasaradhi Reddy would be contesting on the TRS ticket.

To give a strong fight and teach a bitter lesson to the ruling TRS party, the TDP and Congress parties are toying with the idea of supporting the candidate of Left parties so that they can easily win.

Meanwhile, the decision of the YSR Congress Party is going to become crucial for the upcoming MLC elections. The result of the MLC elections will be decided by the decision of YSR Congress party even if it contests or supports the ruling TRS party.
