Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar on Friday thanked the South Central Railway (SCR) for making available highest number of rakes to transport 250 lakh tonnes of coal this year. In November alone, as many as 950 rakes were deployed to enable the company transport coal.

The SCCL official called on SCR General Manager Ravindra Gupta here and discussed about railway sidings to be constructed in SCCL areas - Bethampudi-Koyagudem railway siding, Goleti-Asifabad siding and Sathupalli-BDCR railway lines.

Sridhar requested railways for completion of Goleti-Asifabad (Adilabad District) siding by March-2016. They also discussed on reduction in cost of the proposed Sathupalli-Bhadrachalam Road (BDCR) railway line and formation of Joint Venture.

The Company MD explained that SCCL was planning to dispatch 5.5 million tonnes of coal a month in the last four months of this financial year. He urged Railway official to arrange 35 rakes a month till the end of this financial year for which Guptha responded positively.
