Water Grid project christened Mission Bhagiratha
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has christened the prestigious Drinking Water Grid project as “Mission Bhagiratha.\" He has directed the authorities to take steps in this regard.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has christened the prestigious Drinking Water Grid project as “Mission Bhagiratha." He has directed the authorities to take steps in this regard.
The Water Grid scheme is intended to provided safe drinking water to every household across the State in the coming four years. In Indian mythology, Bhagiratha was a great king who was credited with bringing the River Ganges to Earth from the Heaven.
Since the government is embarking on a big task to bring drinking water from projects, rivers and other water resources to every village and town in 10 districts, it is felt that “Mission Bhagiratha” is the apt name for this project.
KCR has accorded utmost importance to this project so much so that he has vowed not to seek vote in 2019 elections if he fails to launch the scheme.
