Hyderabad: Apparently incensed over several leaders leaving the party, Congress senior leaders and Rajya Sabha members V Hanumantha Rao and Palvai Govardhan Reddy came down heavily upon Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and said it was not proper for the latter to encourage defections.

They said AICC chief Sonia Gandhi was concerned over the leaders leaving the party though she had conceded Telangana state. They termed the leaders who are leaving the party the ‘most corrupt ones’.

Speaking to the media here on Saturday, Hanumantha Rao asked the leaders not to deceive Sonia Gandhi, who had conceded Telangana State at the cost of the party in Andhra Pradesh. He said the TRS leaders had to prepare their own cadre instead of encouraging defections. He said it was not proper on the part of the leaders to leave the party for losing in the elections.

He felt that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) boat would sink with the heavy weight in case it made the Congress leaders join its fold. He alleging that the party seniors had failed to instill confidence among the leaders.
