In a major jolt, TRS lost five seats in the local body polls held in Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts. TRS candidate Jangaiah faced defeat at the hands of Bukka Venkatesh (Congress) in the sarpanch elections in Jedcherla which is the constituency of State Health Minister C Lakshma Reddy.
TRS candidate Sama Mangamma also lost to Praja Front candidate Pannala Rangamma in Nakrekal with the latter getting support from united opposition. TRS also lost four seats in Nalgonda district gaining five of the total nine sarpanch posts and losing six ward level seats winning only 14 of the 20 seats.
