TPCC working president dismisses reports of GHCC president Danam Nagender joining the TRS as ‘rumours’

Hyderabad: The Congress party on Sunday ruled out the possibility of any truck with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the forthcoming elections to Legislative Council. The Congress would field its candidate in all 12 Local Authorities Constituencies (LAC), according to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Bhatti Vikramarka said the rumours were being spread by the ruling party and the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in a bid to damage the prospects of the Congress.

He described this as a conspiracy on the part of the TRS and its leadership to demoralise the Congress activists. “We shall not have any understanding with the ruling TRS. We are fighting elections to the Legislative Council on our own,” said the TPCC working president.

The Congress leader alleged that the TRS had been resorting to unconstitutional methods to win the election by hook or crook. While referring to recent defections to the TRS, he felt that the ruling party was inducing the leaders from other political parties or coercing them.

Even if the KCR persisted with poaching leaders from other political parties, he would not be able to win the GHMC elections, he felt. “The Congress shall capture the GHMC once again by reorganising itself,” he said

Bhatti Vikramarka dismissed the reports of the possibility of Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president Danam Nagender joining the TRS. “Nagender’s opponents had spread the rumours,” he said.
