Central team to take stock of drought tomorrow

A Central team will tour in Karimnagar district on December 8 (Tuesday) to access the gravity of the drought. The team members would examine the withered cotton and maize crops in Bheemadevarapally, Husnabad and Bejjanki mandals and interact with the farmers to know the details crop damage.

Karimnagar: A Central team will tour in Karimnagar district on December 8 (Tuesday) to access the gravity of the drought. The team members would examine the withered cotton and maize crops in Bheemadevarapally, Husnabad and Bejjanki mandals and interact with the farmers to know the details crop damage.

On Tuesday morning, the team will reach Bheemadevarapally mandal and examine cotton and maize crops in Katkur and Yerrabelli village from 9 am to 10 am. Later, they would examine Pedda Cheruvu in Katkur village and interact with the farmers.

From there, they would visit Kundanvanipalli, Gandipalli and Ramulapalli villages of Husnabad mandal from 10.45 am to 11.30. Later, they would reach to Bejjanki and observe the damaged crops in Gundlapalli, Vadlur and Begampet villages. Later they would go to Sircilla at 1 pm, where they would interact with the officials and examine photo exhibition, which will be arranged on drought.

In a statement released to the media on Sunday, District Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad asked the farmers, public representatives and political leaders to submit representations on drought situation in the district to the Central team.
