MLC polls: TRS announces candidates for six constituencies
The ruling TRS is far ahead of its rival parties in declaring the candidates in the biennial election for 12 MLC seats in Telangana.
Hyderabad: The ruling TRS is far ahead of its rival parties in declaring the candidates in the biennial election for 12 MLC seats in Telangana. So far, the party has declared candidates for six seats by Sunday. Senior leader Balasani Laxminarayana will be the candidate from Khammam LAC, while Bhupathi Reddy will test waters from Nizamabad.
Former MLCs N Laxman Rao and Bhanu Prasad will fight Karimnagar LAC and Bhoopal Reddy has been declared as party candidate from Medak. P Satish will contest from Adilabad. The party has already announced T Chennapa Reddy as its candidate for Nalgonda LAC. Meanwhile, the opposition parties are still hunting for suitable candidates.
TRS Secretary General K Keshava Rao exuded confidence that the party would win all the 12 seats for which the polls are scheduled to be held on December 27. The party was selecting right candidates only after consulting the local leaders, he said. The candidates for other districts will be announced in two or three days.
