On the occasion of 59th death anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, ‘Mahaparinirvana Diwas’ was observed at NTPC-Ramagundam on Sunday.

Ramagundam (Karimnagar): On the occasion of 59th death anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, ‘Mahaparinirvana Diwas’ was observed at NTPC-Ramagundam on Sunday.

NTPC SC/ST Employees Welfare Association organised a programme at FCI X Road wherein NTPC Executive Director P K Mohapatra was the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering after garlanding the statue of Ambedkar, Mohapatra observed that the real development of the country could be attained through proper education, which will be a true tribute to Ambedkar for his fight against social disparity.

On this occasion, NTPC under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities distributed chairs, carpets and utensils to 14 Anganwadi Centres. Iron beds, water filter, bed sheets and uniforms were also distributed to six old age homes and hostels of nearby areas.

NTPC General Manager (O&M) Ram Kuber, GM (operations) V M Rajan, HODs, office bearers of NTPC SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, representatives of other unions and employees also paid homage to Ambedkar.
