After the stunning debacle of the Warangal by-poll, the upcoming GHMC election has become a big challenge for the TDP leaders. Many of the TDP leaders feel that if the TDP fails to show its strength in the GHMC polls, then the party's revival in Telangana will be at stake.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu did not campaign for the TDP-BJP combine candidate in the recently concluded Warangal by-poll. Sources say that he may skip the campaign for the GHMC elections too.

But his son and national general secretary of the TDP, Nara Lokesh is all set to campaign extensively in the ensuing election and is planning strategies, sources said. They say that though Chandrababu may not campaign in Hyderabad, he would monitor the campaign and advise the leaders from time to time on campaign style. Lokesh is said to be mainly concentrating on the areas where a large number of Andhra voters reside.

The GHMC election has become prestigious for the TDP as many of its leaders quit the party and jumped to TRS.
