1,000 beneficiaries to receive autos soon
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Tuesday selected thousand auto drivers as beneficiaries through a draw of lots at Haj House in Nampally and assured that orders would be issued soon for allotment of autos to the remaining 700 applicants.

Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Tuesday selected thousand auto drivers as beneficiaries through a draw of lots at Haj House in Nampally and assured that orders would be issued soon for allotment of autos to the remaining 700 applicants.
He said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would distribute autos to the beneficiaries very soon. He advised the drivers to adopt thriftiness and save money earned through hard labour for the welfare of their family. The Deputy CM added that the cost of autos which was Rs 1.60 lakh was bargained for Rs 1.40 lakh with 50 per cent subsidy, providing direct benefit to the drivers. He said that the State government would sanction 4,500 autos to the other nine districts at the rate of 500 autos per district.
Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation Managing Director B Shafiullah informed that among the 1,000 auto drivers, 992 were Muslims, seven were Christians and one was a Sikh beneficiary. The Muslim applicants who outnumbered the quota would be selected through draw of lots.
