Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council, Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Friday lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills Police on Friday seeking immediate action against unknown callers who were threatening to kill him.

MLC Shabbir Ali in his complaint with the police stated that he received a call from an anonymous caller who threatened to kill him if he does not stop criticising Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

He received a call at 5.42 pm on Friday from a landline number ‘040-69542335’ on his mobile phone. The caller used abusive and filthy language against the MLC and threatened to kill him.

“Being the Leader of Opposition in Telangana State Legislative Council, I have been criticising the TRS government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his policies. However, I have been receiving these types of threatening calls quite often. The call I received today was quite serious in nature,” Shabbir Ali stated in his complaint on Friday.

The MLC urged the police to initiate immediate action against the caller and also unravel the conspiracy behind the threatening calls. “I am afraid that some unidentified elements might cause physical harm to me if they remain untraced and if no action is taken against them,” expressed Shabbir Ali.

The Jubilee Hills Police booked a case basing on the complaint and started investigation.
