Hyderabad: Even before the storm created by beef festival settled down, the OU on Saturday witnessed aggressive protests from girl students demanding postponement of PG (Science) examinations.

With examinations dates announced as December 14, they started agitation at Vice-Chancellor’s office. The agitation which began about two-days ago intensified after the Vice-Chancellor rejected the idea of postponement of semester exams.

Some of the girl students were arrested and later released by the police. The OU police completely cordoned off the road from NCC Gate to Tarnaka till midnight.

After several representations to the Vice-Chancellor failed to cut the ice over postponement of examinations, the girl students continued their protest at the VC’s office and later at the women’s hostel till late on Saturday night.
