Warangal: BILT, the only major industry in Warangal district that fell sick on April 3, 2014 will again be on its feet very soon with the government’s decision. The long wait, in fact 308 days of protest by around 1,300 employees, seems to have ended.

It may be mentioned here that the management had closed the unit sending shockwaves among 10,000 people who directly or indirectly depended on the factory for sustenance for the last 35 years.

Earlier on April 22 this year, Rajya Sabha member G Mohan Rao along with Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, Minister for Tribal Welfare A Chandulal, MP A Sitaram Naik and the BILT officials met Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao seeking the support of the government for the revival of the factory.

Speaking to The Hans India, MP G Mohan Rao said: “The credit goes to KCR and Srihari for infusing life into BILT factory, which is on ventilator for some time.”
V Ramchander, general secretary of the workers union affiliated to CITU, said that they were informed by the Deputy CM about the government’s support.
