The Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi on Sunday presented the Dr B R Ambedkar national award- 2015 at Delhi to Social activist and Telangana Electricity Employees Union (1104) State organising secretary B Srinivas Naik.
Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi on Sunday presented the Dr B R Ambedkar national award- 2015 at Delhi to Social activist and Telangana Electricity Employees Union (1104) State organising secretary B Srinivas Naik.Dr S P Sumanakshar, national president of the Akademi, presented him the award and felicitated him on the occasion. Naik was considered for the award in recognition of the efforts made by him in propagating the ideology Dr B R Ambedkar and taking message to the masses and downtrodden.
Naik, a resident of Khammam was one of the leaders in the front lines of the fight for separate Telangana State as well.
Speaking on the occasion BDSA president said that Naik had been a perennial source of support for the cause of the Dalit education and upliftment taken up by the Bharat Dalit Sahitya Akadami , that was established in 1984 by the then Deputy Prime Minister.
Naik,on this occasion, said that the success of the mission to enlighten the Dalits owed to the initiative of the writers, poets, dramatists, journalists, novelists, story writers, litterateurs, social workers etc in Telangana State.
