Mahbubnagar: District collector Dr T K Sridevi felicitated two girls and a boy from Tribal and Social Welfare residential schools who had created record by successfully ascending Mount Everest at the youngest age.

On the occasion, the district collector appreciated the students for their adventurous feat at the youngest age and ensured all support for their future endeavours. “The students should work hard and study well to reach their goals. Teachers and parents are equally responsible in moulding the students. They must encourage students and help them think innovative,” said the collector.

Later, she felicitated Nanavath Pooja, Mudavath Kavitha and Nallabothula Krishna, who are all students of Residential Tribal and Social Welfare Schools in Mannanur. Earlier, the collector took part at Praja Darbar.

As part of this, the collector directed the officials of ITDA and other departments concerned to see that all the welfare programmes like pension schemes, supply of drinking water and other basic facilities were provided in time to the agency and tribal hamlets. Govind Vongmore, DMHO, Dr Venkatiah, PO ITDA and Devender Reddy, RDO participated in the programme. Later, the collector offered prayers at the Umamaheswaram Temple.
