Hyderabad: Leaders from various political parties in the city are continuing to join the ruling party ahead of the forthcoming GHMC elections. On Monday, K M Prathap of Qutbullapur, K Srinivas Yadav, V N Reddy and their followers in large numbers joined the TRS at Telangana Bhavan in the presence of Ministers K T Rama Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and Advisor to the government D Srinivas.
After offering the new leaders the pink shawls, KTR called upon the people to vote for the TRS in the GHMC elections for better governance and welfare of the poor.
Taking a dig at the previous governments for ignoring the welfare and their failure in developing the city, KTR said the 18-month-old TRS government had successfully resolved the problems that accumulated for over 60 years.
Inefficiency coupled with negligence and lack of plan of the successive governments, the city remained mired in problems, he alleged. He urged the citizens to question the Congress, TDP and BJP leaders when they came to them to seek votes what development they had done during their rule. Neither the Congress nor the TDP cannot dare to tell the people what they had done for the people, he said and claimed that the TRS can tell them about various welfare schemes.
The TRS government was offering pensions to 38 lakh people, besides implementing Kalyan Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak for marriage of poor girls and providing fine rice to hostels. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is known for keeping the promises he had made, KTR added.
Srinivas asserted that the ruling party would win the GHMC elections to develop the city and make it an international destination. Telangana was surpassing other States in implementing welfare programmes and the people reposed faith in the KCR government.
