Hyderabad: Tourism in the State is all set to get a major fillip as the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) is keen to invest in major sectors.

Under the integrated development of eco tourism circuit in Mahbubnagar (Swadesh Darshan scheme) Rs 99.87 crore has been earmarked to develop Somasila, Singotam, Akka Mahadevi caves, Umamaheshwaram temple, improvement of facilities at Srisailam and Mallelatheertham and Farahabad.

Another Rs 92.11 crore has been allotted for the development of Mulugu-Laknavaram-Medaram-Tadvai-Damaravai-Mallur-Bogatha-waterfalls as tribal circuit.

At the gateway to Medaram, wayside amenities such as reception cum information desk, seating lounge, restaurant and a cloak room apart from parking bays and a gazebo are planned at a cost of Rs 735.6 lakhs. At Laknavaram lake view decks with safety railing at main island that can accommodate 100 persons are planned. Two jetties and water sports facilities would be given a major fillip said Peravaram Ramulu, chairman, TSTDC. As part of the sporting facilities, a jet ski, six pedal boats and two speed boats would be a major attraction at Laknavaram Lake.

A tribal haat where tribal art and craft could be displayed along with an amphi-theatre that can seat 200 people is planned at Medaram.Kaloji Kala Kendram to come up at Hanamakonda

The government of Telangana has accorded administrative sanction vide G.O.Rt.No.716 for Rs 50 crore project at Hanamakonda under the State budget. The building is to consist of four floors in 3.5 acre with a built up area of 12990 sq.mt.The auditorium would seat close to 1,100 people. Tenders would be called in January 2016.
