Ayutha Chandi Yagam, the five-day religious ritual organised by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for universal peace and people\'s welfare came to an end with ‘purnahuthi’, on Sunday.

The 'Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagam', which began on December 23 at Erravelli village in Medak district, involved non-stop chanting of mantras besides devotional programmes, including bhajans and 'Harikathas'. On the first day, KCR undertook a circumambulation of the 'Yagashala' before performing 'Guru Prarthana' in front of the idol of 'Chandi Matha', marking the beginning of the event.

As many as 1,100 rithviks (priests), assisted by juniors, performed a slew of rituals at 101 'homagundams' (sacred fire pits) and recited 'veda mantras' several thousand times during the ceremony.

KCR to perform ‘Prayutha Chandi Yagam’ now Our Bureau Hyderabad: On the last day of the Ayutha Maha Chandi Yagam organised at his farmhouse in Erravelli village, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday announced that he would perform another yagam called it as “Prayutha Chandi Yagam” to realise the dream of “Golden Telangana.”

Speaking at the conclusion of the five-day yagam, the Chief Minister said the purpose of the yagam was accomplished and the immediate priority before him was to achieve golden Telangana with divine blessings of Chandi Matha. Amid chanting slogans, he said people’s dream to achieve Telangana had been fulfilled.

“The main challenge before the government is to fulfil all the promises made by him including providing safe drinking water to every household under Mission Bagheeradha and under Mission Kakatiya, all the water bodies will be revived for future generations,” he said.

He will soon meet Bhrathi Thirtha Swamy along with his family and seek his blessings for the better future of the Telangana State. He performed yagam with the blessing of Chandi Mata for the well-being of people of Telangana in the new State.
